As an actor, writer, producer, and filmmaker, Ruth has a long list of credits- over 100 productions in the past 20 years.  In theatre, she co-founded White Rooster Theatre with Sherry White in 2001 to produce their acclaimed play, The House Wife.  She has worked for Rising Tide Theatre, Wonderbolt Productions, Resource Centre for the Arts Theatre Company, Tarragon Theatre, C2C Theatre, Nickel Independent Film Festival and many others.  Her work has taken her to Ireland, France, across Canada, and to most towns and coves in Newfoundland and Labrador. Her plays have been performed across Newfoundland and Labrador and in Canada. Her films (as actor,writer and/or director, see bluepinionfilms.com) have screened in film festivals across Canada and the U.S. In 2011-12, she won the NLAC’s Artist of the Year, the RBC Michelle Jackson Emerging Filmmaker Award, the Linda Joy Award, and the Atlantic Film Festival’s Joan Orenstein Best Actress Award. She is a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal.
